What's up with new release of "Party Girl"

First Look put this out in December of last year and I couldn't find it anywhere. I just picked up a used copy recently.

Now I see that Columbia/Tri-Star is releasing a version on July 1st but it looks like just a repackaging of the full-frame version. What gives?!?

He-he-hello! (Couldn't resist!)

Funny movie. I hadn't even realized it was already out. Hopefully, with Sony re-releasing it, it'll become more widely available. Too bad about the full-frame, but with independent films, FF some times works better...

Not only is it full-frame, but the SRP is $24.95! At least, according to DVDFile.

I'm still wondering why First Look had such a short sale window. It seems like their version is already OOP at most e-tailers.

I picked up the (full-frame ) Canadian release off of Ebay last year for about six dollars.

The $24.95 price seems excessive for a non-OAR release.

I also bought this last week at 9 bucks from a Canadian store.

the original release also has a misprint on the back cover. it claims there is a commentary...for which there is not.

Who was supposed to be on the commentary track?

It's OOP already? Wow, that's nuts... it just came out in December. In print for 3 months or less?

I preordered it (before I heard about the aspect ratio issue and the lack of a promised commentary), so I have it sitting around somewhere. I don't think I've even taken the shrinkwrap off yet...
