DVD Talk Limited Edition
Good question. I loved this movie when I saw it last summer.
I got tired of waiting and bought the R2 DVD from France. (It has English subs).
I think an independent distributor owns the R1 rights, but so far there isn't even a VHS available.

Well...if it is Strand or KINO...I am going to get the French dvd...in fact I am pretty sure that I will given the recent slate of films that I was waiting for...AND THEY ALL CAME OUT NON 16/9:
Code Unknown (J.Binoche)- non-anamorphic =KINO
Merci Pour Le Chocolat (Isabelle Huppert) non 16/9 =FirstRun
The Piano Teacher (I.Huppert) non 16/9 =Kino
Barocco- Isabelle Adjani- non-16/9 =PathFinder
only 101 Reykjavik came out anamorphic! So, as soon as I find out I am getting the French release (if Columbia or any other major does not release it anamorphic...as they did with WASABI).
Mao should know as he posted it........MAO???

I have some more info.
The French DVD is anamorphic with some non-subtitled extras.

According to IMDB, a company called Magnolia pictures has the US rights.
There is also a British DVD that has softer language in the subtitles to qualify it for a BBFC 15 rating. The British DVD is also anamorphic, but the extras on the French disk were all dropped.
