Ancient Mythological DVDs Recommendations Please
Hi All,
I am looking for some re-make DVDs of great Greek/Roman/Egyptian Mythological Epic stories, such as:
Helen of Troy, Jason, Cleopatra, and so forth.
Would you please list some of these DVDs? (they don't necessarily have to be High budget movies (i.e. Hollywood type) any PBS or similar BBC related would be great)
Many thanks in advance!

1) Jason and The Argonauts. Both the new version and the 60's version.
2) Merlin (with Sam Neill)
3) Excalibur (wasn't that bad)

Hmmm.... Not sure what you're after exactly. Including Cleopatra confuses me, as it's not particularly "mythological" at all...
If you're after movies/stories that take place in Ancient Civilizations -- whether or not they involve magic or mythology -- I'd say that I, Claudius is one of the very best in the PBS/BBC vein... It's delicious, evil fun... a deadly soap opera about the "plotting behind the throne" in ancient Rome...

Thanks. Don't forget that Superstation (USA Channel) will air "Helen of Troy" (part 1 of 2) this Sunday evening (Easter Sunday).
I have bought the Jason and the Argonauts, The Odyssey, and now the Helen of Troy, sort of completes my collection!

Sorry Cannibal, we get a little skeptical around here when a new member shows up and plugs a product or show. There have been a few studio shills that have been caught here who join DVD Talk and then post threads like, "I just saw "xXx" and let me tell you it is one jacked-up thrill ride. Check it out!" Your post "Don't forget that Superstation (USA Channel) will air "Helen of Troy" (part 1 of 2) this Sunday evening (Easter Sunday)." just sounded so promotional it made me wonder.
Cheers.
