"Rockford Files" on DVD: A release date? Please?
Universal said quite a while back (around the same time they announced "Baretta," which has now been out on DVD for quite a while) that "The Rockford Files" would be out on disc this year. Has anyone heard a more specific release date? I know it's only mid-April, but I'm a bit antsy. I can't be the only one anxiously awaiting the DVD arrival of this brilliant show.

I believe the original guestimation was around October. It is supposed to be released with Magnum P.I. on the same day. That is the last I heard.

Anyone heard any new news on either of these (Magnum P.I. or The Rockford Files)? Just curious, I have been unable to dig anything up on my own. Last I heard was same as above. Thanks ahead.

I'm looking forward to this release as well. Hopefully we'll get a few commentaries from Jim Garner and creator Stephen J Cannell
PS. I can't wait to hear that theme song at nauseum. It's one of the all time best

There's been some suggestion that Universal has delayed plans to release shows such as The Rockford Files and Magnum due to its current financial difficulties.
Here's hoping they arrive soon, along with other classic Universal series such as as Quincy and Ironside.
