How many of your DVDs feature overtures?

Always thought it was kinda neat when movies of old had overtures at the begining. The ones I own that do are The Great Race, Ben-Hur, The Cowboys, How The West Was Won and Star Trek The Motion Picture - any others out there?

The Happiest Millionaire.

Might be more, can't be sure offhand. Next purchased will be The Great Race, someday. If Star Trek has one, I must have that on my LD. Haven't watched it in awhile.

Unless you have the laserdisc, the overture isn't in the dvd version.

The music that is played at the begining of a movie with nothing on the screen or just the words "overture" on it.

As mentioned before, The Black Hole has one...

and, although I haven't opened the DVD yet, "King of Kings" should have one. The official VideoCD release had one.

I do wish modern movies still did this. Imagine walking into LOTR:ROTK and hearing the familiar LOTR themes playing in full majesty. Certainly beats those lame slide show ads with the stupid movie trivia questions.

I have many listed on this page, but one recent film comes to mind that no one else has mentioned yet: Dancer in the Dark.

1970's Scrooge (once it comes out) should have an overture.

Does the music playing while opening credits roll (like in Superman or Star Wars) qualify as an overture...?

Movie Star Background, comments by actors and directors, scene locations in other countries besides USA. I also make video catures with own URL, for other friends on the net, that want a certain pic. Found on discs like "Swiss Family Robinson" or "The Abyss" both have 2 discs plus others.
