I also have the companion book, and many of those scenes dealt with more of the historical nature. At least one more scene in the radio room I believe.

I'm surprised that he would only be adding a few minutes. I seem to remember them talking about sequences involving the boats not returning when called back, as well as the depiction of the Californian, a ship that was floating nearby the Titanic and was in visual range to watch the ship sink. From their angle(directly behind it) they couldn't see the ship tilt up and the crew completely ignored the warning flares, not knowing what they meant. In addition to that, they had shut down their radio over night and never received the calls for help.
I was under the impression that Cameron shot all this and was going to add it to the film. I remember them talking about it being at least 30 minutes worth of material.

Make sure Paramount gives us P&S for Kate Winslet's ass.
Maybe there should be a sticker on the DVD.
Minus the black bars but PLUS the ass!

Well I don't know how much a "few" minutes added means coming from JC. Yet so far i enjoyed the longer versions of Aliens & The Abyss better than the theatrical releases.
Oh...i have the WS vhs of the film & you do see Kates bush briefly as well ass...& you still see her breasts as well. So i'm happy with the scene as it is..& think it's really sweet & beautiful anyway.
Oh yeah...i also love the film & don't find it boring at all. In fact it moves along at a nice pace & doesn't feel like 3 hours. As usual, the great films don't seem long enough, while the bad/boring films seem like a etirnity.

One can only imagine how amazing this film will look anamorphic on a widescreen set..The exisitng print seems to be in pristine condition..
I hope they include a musical score and commentary from James Horner..I thaught he did a great job..
I'd love to also know how some of those amazing special effects were done..
18 months seems years away

I can't wait until this gets released. I'm very interested in what the longer cut will bring and plenty of extra features, 18 months does seem long away.
Shanester, that would be a great idea with the music score by Horner I thought it was a great for the film.
