openning six feet under
did a search for this and nothing turned up.
i just got six feet under and want to open it (obviously), but can't really figure out how. is it supposed to lift up like a shoe box? or flip back (like the sopranos)?
it's a nice looking box and i'd rather not wreck it. any strategies would be appreciated. thanks.

Several people have ruined their boxes, opening them incorrectly. The top of the box is a hinge, so don't cut off or try to peel the "tape". Simply open from the bottom of the box. There's a bit more resistence than usual; you'll see why once you open the box -- the inner box actually lifts out on it own, like a pop-up book...

ok, thanks.
good thing i asked. i had been thinking that top hinge might be a sticker i'd need to peel off.
by the way, lifting it from the bottom is very good advice. i would just clarify for anyone else who might want to know in the future that the easiest way to open it seems to be flipping it over (to the side with the picture of the funeral) and then lifting up, much easier than the other way around.
thanks again everybody.

Yeah, it was kinda weird once I got this season set. I too, thought that the sticker on the back hinge had to be removed, but luckily i tried other things first. Once I realized that it opens the way it does, I thought it was pretty creative to be made that way. Although, it would have been more effective if it wasn't so....well, giving you that feeling that it might break eventually. But hey, you can't ask for a metal tin all the time like we got with Band Of Brothers

Yeah, this is a clear winner for worst-designed packaging ever. Mine is still intact (luckly), but I have a bitch of a time opening it correctly.
I know a good 4-5 people who completely wrecked their box when the got it.
I don't know why they bothered to do this... was there something wrong with the existing packaging techniques? Just make it the same design as The Sopranos, instead of this oversized awkward p.o.s.
