cinescape

I just received a notice from Cinescape telling me my subscription has expired...except I've never subscribed to Cinescape.

In scanning a few posts all around this Forum, I get the impression that Cinescape is trying to pick up where TotalMovie left off (why anyone would do that is beyond me), and I was a TotalMovie subscriber.

Does anyone have any pros/cons to contribute about Cinescape? My initial reaction was to toss my "last chance" mailing in the trash. But might it be worthy of consideration?

(If I've posted to the wrong place, please redirect my post and accept my apology.)

Yep, CineScape has picked up the TME subscribers, so you should receive the total number of issues due to you. As for if it is worth continuing, that is up to you. I've only read a little of my first issue, so I don't feel I'm informed enough to judge.
My first impression is that it is a little lighter on content, but the content it does have seems better than what TME had been putting out, although with more of a SciFi/Fantasy slant than TME provided.

I never got all of my issues of TotalMovie magazine and also had an extention from them...

I'm done with giving any money to these fly-by-night guys!!!!!

I tried calling them @ 1-800-342-3592 and only get a robot operator.

CineScape isn't exactly a "fly-by-night" operation. The magazine has been around for quite a few years.

Cinescape is a pretty good magazine that runs a great web site. Not a lot of news in the magazine, but some of the features can be good. Its development slate listing is very good, as are some of its columnists (although they dropped Mark Altman, it seems, and that's a mistake!). I like the magazine enough to continue subscribing, although I do wish they were more critical of movie studios on occasion.
