lots of funny people on there but I never have time to read the emails. It's pretty active considering the show is off the air.

No, it just isn't listed at many other retailers yet.
Amazon Canada has it listed already though.

I received the DVD last week and watched a few episodes this weekend. One scene in particular made me laugh so hard I was actually crying: when Jeri forgets that her art project is due and grabs the head off the clay sculputre of another student and tries to pass it off as her project!!
I also love the scene in which her step mother is passed out in her Peter Pan costume. Priceless!
I hope Comedy Central releases seasons 2 and 3 as well. I love this show!!!

Only problem I can see with this set is the quality of the episode
YOUNG GIFTED AND BLANK, the problem appears to be with the actual production of the episode rather than a bad transfer. Really grainy compared to the rest of the episodes.

Finished watching Season 1 recently.....great show!!
Glad that this came out on dvd since it came on Comedy Central after I graduated college and no longer had cable.
It took a few episodes to peak, but the more episodes into the series, the more daring it became, and of course the funnier. I hope that the show continues to get more and more outrageous and I hope that subsequent seasons get released quickly!!!
If you like this show and haven't purchased these dvds yet, do it now!!!
Pity that there was only commentary on 4/10 episodes. The unaired pilot was great to have though! There was a lot of good stuff in there.....most of it got reused, but there were quite a lot of differences in the pilot with the characters and how the show would have developed.
Now I only wish Exit 57 would come out on dvd....that WAS on when I was in college and it is probably my second favorite sketch comedy show (after The State of course!) and also starred Amy Sedaris, Stephen Colbert, and Paul Dinello.

This DVD is a TWO disc set. Many sites have it listed as one. I have watched 5 episodes so far, and it is very funny (in a disturbing sort of way!). I will never look at bacon strips the same way again....or Wilford Brimley for that matter...

Does anyone know what dvd had the promo spots for Strangers With Candy on them?
I used to see the promos a lot on *some* dvd, and now that I have seen the show, I have been trying to find the promo again and cannot. Unless it was on the original Rhino South Park dvds (and nothing else) because I no longer have them.....

Mr. Noblet: "Jerri, I am alarmed by the content of this note."
Jerri: "But my vagina's been all... puffy."
Mr. Noblet: "Jerri! - the OTHER content"
Classic. I can't wait for the Movie. Amy Sedaris is a genius, and Deborah Rush as the Step-mom is a riot.
Another nomination for funniest line: "And finally, being cast in the lead in the role of Mama- the poor but proud, heavyset, african-american woman: Jerri Blank!" - although you really have to see the entire scene in context to appreciate it.
On a side note, during the commentary on the "Dreams on the Rocks" episode, they mention some kind of "delicious" story involving the guest actor who takes Jerri to the ala-caholics meeting, but they say they can't talk about it - anyone know what it is?
