"Confessions of a Dangerous Mind" bumped to FALL (!!!)

Just saw this on DVDFile. NOT happy about this at all. Do they honestly think this film will find it's audience in the theatres this summer!? What a terrible decision. If anything, re-release it now. Or in the Fall. But it'll get lost in (again) in the big budget summer shuffle. At any rate, I was looking forward to it's DVD release in July. Oh well.

Street date alert - 12:47pm

Rounding out today's update is a street date change from Buena Vista Home Entertainment. To give the George Clooney-directed biopic Confessions of a Dangerous Mind another shot with audiences, Miramax will re-release the film in theaters this summer, and has bumped the original July street date to this September. No word on an exact date or specs, but stay tuned...

From: You have moved into a dark place. It is pitch black. You are likely to be eaten by a grue.
That's weird. The National Association of Theatre Owners (NATO) newsletter said that COADM was to be re-released in September in the theaters, not in the summer.

I guess we'll have to wait and see. But yes, it looks like the DVD will be pushed back until late in the year, in either case.

I hope it finds an audience, although I doubt it. I mean, by the time it's re-released won't people think "Oh, that's an old movie"?

I guess this kinda worked itself out for me, since I wanted to catch this in the theaters but missed it due to its short run. Guess I'll be able to catch it now after all.
