Broadway shows on DVD?

Last year I bought the Julie Andrews Broadway musical Victor Victoria on DVD which was very good. Does anyone out there know if there are any plans to put any other Broadway performances out on this format. I'd love to see a DVD of Thoroughly Modern Millie ( the show - I know the original movie is coming sometime in May! )and The Producers as they would be great souvenirs of two excellent shows!

There are some others, although not as many as fans would want. "Jekyll & Hyde" with David Hasselhoff is available. I picked one up at K-Mart for about $14.00. "Barnum" with the London Cast and Michael Crawford seems to be available. Sondheim's "Into the Woods" is on DVD. And I think his "Sweeney Todd" may be on DVD soon. There are some concert cast shows around, although that's not the same thing. I don't know of any plans to put "Millie" or "Producers" on DVD, although there may be plans to develop a film version of Broadway's "The Producers" sometime in the future. I guess I'd like to see "Hairspray" (from Broadway) released sometime. Hope this helps a bit.

Since the musical is my favorite genre, I have attempted to list all the musicals (both stage and film) that are on DVD. Check out this link for more Broadway musicals on DVD:

MUSICALS ON DVD

There also Broadway shows presented in concert form and other foreign stage productions that you can check out in this list.

"The Man Who Came To Dinner", starring Nathan Lane, was released last month.

I'd definitely buy Rent, and Hairspray.
