Double Amaray case solution?

I wasn't aware these were available. It's called 'Add-a-Page' and they are available at 'Sleve City' (10 for $3). It looks just like a regular Amaray double holder but its modified to fit onto the insert clips of a standard case.

Beware they are advertised as fitting both Amaray and Alpha cases but thats not true. They do not fit the Alpha single case at all (the case won't close). They will fit the Alpha double but it is a close fit and a slight squeez of the closed case will disingage the hub on the add-a-page unit. They do fit the thin triple Alpha so here's a nice way to convert a thin triple to a quad case (I think it was the 'Outer Limits' 4 Disc Set that came with one of these, so you may already have one to look at). They will also fit the other multi disc Alpha cases so you can also stretch those to hold an additional disc.

They fit the Amaray case very well as long as there is not a thick booklet. I also found that they will fit a number of the other off brand cases out there. At 10 for 3 bucks, they're not a bad alternative.

This is great. A while ago there was a rumor that Criterion might release their older laserdisc commentaries on CD and I thought this would be the perfect way to package them. They would have to be pretty cheap though.

Nice find. I might have to order some. Definitely a cheaper route.

I could defintly use these for some of my Pearl Harbor 5-Disc, I want to store the NG disc with it. I wish it fitted the double case better, I have a ton of those just sitting around & would love to alter them to triple status.

Jess,

Maybe I overstated the double misfit a bit. They do fit It just requires a bit of care. It's that hard rounded portion of the hub in the Alpha cases that sits right on top of the trigger mechanism of the add-a-page unit when the case is closed. As long as you know not to squeez the case they're fine (it doesn't take much of a squeez either). It's not like you go around squeezing your cases but if your not aware of the fact you could do it by accident. The larger size Alpha cases have a bit more room so the hubs aren't right on top of one and other.

Or you could have a problem if you stack your movies vertically on your shelf vs. horizontally.

I keep my movies in Keepsake Boxes ($5 @ wal-mart) So my movies are stored differently plus they are kinda loose & jiggle around a bit, I guess I will have to spend the $7.50 & order 10 of them, Thanks for the heads up about these John.

FYI - if ordering through Sleeve City, use coupon code BIG15 to get 15% off your order.

Has anyone tried the EconPak Slim Double by NexPak (the Amaray Company)? I don't really need the clips for the insert as I'm just looking for better cases for my E.T., etc. DVDs. This is what's on the Sleeve City website about them "...the same quality construction you expect from a respected American case maker with a much lower price. The EconPak features alpha-type hubs front and back for 2 DVDs plus a full clear sleeve for outside artwork. 5 1/4" x 7 1/2" x 9/16" No inside clips, no DVD logo. Black." And here's a LINK. Thanks in advance!

Yes! I ordered a bunch of these for my two disk sets. They are perfectly fine because, like you, I dont really want or need inserts.
One thing though, when I received both of my separate shipments from them, both times the top and bottom cases were severly wrinkled from what I assume is the shrinkwrap they use to hold all of the cases together.

Hmm, yes I was looking at ordering some of these as well... I take it they have exactly the same dimensions as a normal single-disc case?

I ordered some of these and they do work in alot of cases. I liked the one from Outer Limits box and this gave me the idea. I will be using these trays for certain custom boxes I will be doing. I will be using it for Jaws 1-3, Cube Original-New Release-Hypercube. Terminator 2 UE & EE. Etc...

I also used the tray for double sets in a single sized box. Species 1 & 2, City Slickers 1 & 2, Blair Witch 1 & 2, etc...

Not a bad way to do things I think. At 30 cents a tray its better than having to buy the already assembled single w/ insert tray at $1.50. I have so many single amaray cases from before it was the best choice for me.

Chipper, thank you very much for that coupon code. I made an order that was a little less than $50, so the coupon code saved me almost $7 (which basically cancelled out the shipping).

I ordered some regular amarays, some double-alphas, some add-a-page inserts, and some triple alphas. I will post an update about how the add-a-page inserts work after I receive them.
