C.S.I. Season 1 DVD Issues

I bought CSI when it came out last week, and have made it to disc 4. The problem is, when I put the disc in my DVD-ROM Drive in my computer, Windows refuses to recognize that there is a disc in the drive. If I put the disc in my roommates standalone DVD Player, it plays without a problem. If I put something else in the DVD-ROM drive, Windows recognizes it just fine (Including other discs of CSI). I'm not sure if I have a bad disc or what. I cleaned the disc and the drive and it still didn't help. Has anyone else had this problem? What do you suggest I do?

You do have a bad disc. but not for any reason you stated. It's bad because it isn't in its OAR. .

yeah, this happens with some discs. You just have click run, browse, select DVD drive, etc. Or open your playback software and run it maually from there. It probably depends on the brand of DVD-ROM you have and the discs compatability with it.

By the way, I agree that it was just wrong not to release CSI in it's OAR.

great news martin, given that the show was broadcast in HD what was the logic in releasing season 1 fullframe? and, is there any chance that it would be re-released, or is that simply a pipe dream?

I did finally get it to work. Nothing magic in the fix, just kept trying until it worked. With regards to the discs themselves and the OAR, I too would have liked to have seen them in HD, not because I care about having more picture, but because I would have liked a better transfer. The picture quality on the episodes is somewhat lacking. I don't regret buying the package, as the show is still great, but I too would like to see the HD version.

I'd like them to be HD-DVDs too but my flux capacitor crystals are acting up and I can only watch movies in fullscreen
