Check this out for reviews: http://www.asiandvdguide.com/hk.cfm?ID=6 Personally I thought it was ok, nothing really great though. The most disappointing thing was the "deleted scenes" which was really just a rehash of 45 mins of the movie

BTW for most HK movies one of the best resources is: http://www.asiandvdguide.com/ you can also try http://www.hkmdb.com and http://pub5.ezboard.com/bhongkongdvds (which is a forum similar to DVDtalk but mainly just about HK DVDs
).

Thanks. I remember when this DVD was released, but didn't give it much thought. Then the trailer was included on the Once Upon A Time In China rerelease and it kind of caught my eye.

If you like Hong Kong movies, this isn't bad. Good acting, cool action, I liked it a lot. The Columbia Tristar release is anamorphic with DD5.1 Cantonese & English, has a makig-of, deleted scenes, + a trailer.

THe Universe version is similar to the Columbia version in content(don't know about the picture), but you'll be saving yourself quite a bit of cash. Search places like http://www.dddhouse.com/ if you are interested (Gen-Y-Cops is currently out on VCD aswell).

I thought it sucked. Sorry, but it was a terrible movie. The action scenes were the biggest disappointment. No rhythm, no excitement, a lot of weak-looking "flailing" fighting. I can't believe Jackie's team worked on this one. Similarly, the attempt at being one of those ultra-pretty, super slick movies failed as well. The cinematography and shot selection feel half-hearted and amateurish. The only positives I can think are 1) Some of the character actors are awesomely entertaining (Francis Ng and Sam Lee), and 2) the girls are extremely hot and pretty.
Other than that, avoid. Director Benny Chan has done much much better films, not the least of which was "Big Bullet". It's a 1996 police action thriller that is about a 10X better than Gen-X Cops. It's a good-looking DVD, to boot. Actually, everyone involved with this film has done better work. Well, maybe with the exception of Stephen Fung, but that guy's a punk-@ss anyway, so who cares?

Regardless of whether Gen-Y-Cops will be good or crap, there's Maggie Q and Christy Chung innit, so no qualms there. The film may be just OK, but for a Hong Kong released DVD there's a hefty amount of extras http://www.asiandvdguide.com/reviews/genxcopsu.html for details.

Is Maggie Q the same as Michelle Saram?
