Watched it on a 65" HDTV with progressive-scan & thought the picture looked pretty good. Some reviewers were saying it wasn't that good, but I was suprised when I acyually watched it. Not bad at all. The audio wasn't great, but also not bad at all. Not much rear sounds except for maybe 2 scenes, but that's normal in most older movies. If you like the movie (if you haven't seen it, the movie itself is very good, although with time seems a bit more cliched/ corny) get it.

I pretty much agree with everything El Kabong has said. Despite some reviews to the contrary, I found the transfer to be better than average for a 1987 film. I would say I was pleased with it.
The audio was a disappointment to me...it just seems like it was not mixed right. The score comes through loud and clear but gunshots and the dialog seemed muffled.
And yes, I didn't feel the excitement I did the first time I saw this movie in a threatre back in 87...partially because I've seen it so many times though. All in all still a great movie with fantastic camerawork.
