It's one of my favorite movies of all time, but I've held off buying the DVD because I was hoping for a special edition to be released. Well, now that a new version is on the way without any new extras (I understand that it will not be a flipper, but there is no new material planned) I was thinking of using some Christmas gift certificates to pick it up. Any comments on the transfer/presentation of the film on this DVD?

This was one of the first 3 DVDs I bought, and it taught me right away to research before buying. The transfer is good but not anamorphic, and there are no extras. The flipping is really annoying, so much so that I never watch this DVD anymore. I would avoid it.

The ultimate "inside" mob movie, "forget about it"!!
As far as the DVD presentation, I think it is very good overall, and includes a 5.1 DD mix. The fact that it is a "flipper" is a function of its "DVD age". IMHO this is a small annoyance given the brilliance of the film.

I've read about it several times on this board. Perhaps it's just a rumor, but I do believe that it was confirmed by the studio in a chat somewhere.
I guess I'll just break down and buy the DVD. Flippers are annoying, but I can live with it.

I was just going through the production notes on this DVD and, the back buttons aren't synchronized (i.e. they move slightly when you change pages). What is this world coming to?
