"Gladiator"... hmm - if only Ridley Scott had given us a film that truly depicted the pathos of ancient Rome. Instead, we get a very nice looking, grade-B, Saturday afternoon adventure flick with the usual hackneyed anti-Rome prejudices found in such costume dramas.

The CGI looked way too phony baloney. I watched Spartacus the day before Gladiator came out & I was totally devestated at how bad Gladiator was/is. The paucity of story line, character development, etc., and the aformentioned horrendous CGIs were totally unexpected from the creator of such masterpieces as ALIEN & BLADE RUNNER.
