Yes, the special effects are the ONLY redeeming quality to this heap of trash they call a movie. If you rent it, just put on some head phones and watch the pretty effects. Or just don't rent it. Either way, you won't miss a thing.

Picture and sound are great but the movie itself is lacking! Worth a rental though.

Worst movie i've ever seen. Glad i rented it first. Don't buy it wait for it on cable or on TV.

I rented and watched the DVD last night. The film has a lot going for if you look beyond the plot-holes and improbabilities. It at least strives to be more than it is. Overall good effects, photography and acting. The script forwards some great ideas -- but falls short. Overall, it's less than the sum of its parts.

I you want to see a great sci-fi film try 2001 or CONTACT. If you want an ok popcorn flick, rent this one. It's not bad; just not great. My opinion.

This movie sucked big time.

I haven't seen it, but my friend said it was worse than Cutthroat Island - so I know it has to be the worst film in history.

He also said it was worse than Wing Commander and Killer Condom.

I wasted $7 + popcorn to see this at the theatre...

Worst than Cutthroat Island, YES. Worse than Wing Commander, NO.

It was watchable. Whoever says that the effects are great must be on their CRACK COCAINE! I guess they were okay, but the ending makes all of the effects suck.

I like DePalma. I stick up for Snake Eyes. But damnit, I will no buy nor boast about this movie.

What's your definition of hyped, movies that you actually saw? I don't understand when peole say movies are too "hyped up". All movies have previews, TV trailers, and such. And when certain movies like Mission to Mars and Battlefield Earth get reviews, they are bad. The word of mouth was bad, and thusly there is no real hype. It's your fault for paying to see them
