From TV GUIDE review:

Revenge of the Nerds (1984)
This funny movie is about 10 rungs above the usual teenage-college films. Lewis (Robert Carradine) and Gilbert (Anthony Edwards) are the essential nerds, in that Gilbert is a shy computer genius and Lewis is a boy with an annoying laugh and a huge overbite. When they arrive at Adams College and try to join fraternities, they are turned aside as they are so nerdy. In desperation, they join with other nerds to start their own branch of Lambda Lambda Lambda, an all-black fraternity that is functioning on other campuses. All the while, they are being closely watched by the jock contingent led by Stan (Ted McGinley), who is also the chairman of the Greek council. The jocks begin to make life miserable for the nerds, but revenge is on its way. This picture is hipper than National Lampoon's Animal House; Porky's; and all of the other teenage films lumped together. It's engaging, hysterically funny at times, wildly satiric, and has fewer lapses of good taste than most.

I'd have to get the 1st.
First time I saw bush ...and 1st porno!

Jonathan

Me and my younger brother would always watch the part where the cameras were set up on the girls..... and one day, our older brother goes, "You want to see bush?". He popped in the vhs tape and I was blown away. A guy was F**king this gorgeous girl. I couldn't believe what I saw! I was probably 13, my younger brother 8, and older 18. I still remember that day like it was yesterday.....coming up on 10 years!!!!!!!!

We perfer your high iq's to their great big jocks. Lambda Lambda Lambda boys really are the best, wont you take a piece of pie and we'll do the rest"

One of the alltime great comedies that should be released immediatly on DVD

I have this on VHS (FOX Video). I was wondering if any of you noticed that they edited out a nose picking scene in the gymnasium near the beginning fo the movie. You know, when Takashi asks Booger why do they call you "Booger".

OK, this quote is from "Animal House" not "Nerds," but....

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the first Nerds movie, but wasn't basically a total ripoff form Animal House? Hmmm, let's get a fraternity of misfits to lose their frat house, etc, all because the "cool guy" frat doesn't like them...

But Revenge of the Nerds is a much better movie. There is no nose picking, belching contest, or "Liquid Heat" in Animal House. By the way, what is "Liquid Heat"? Does it really exist?

Yes, it is a linament that athletes put onto sore muscles -- Icy Hot is one brand name. It's like a super duper Ben Gay.

ROTN is quite probably the most hilarious, juvenile, and thoroughly entertaining movie EVER! There is something so satisfying seeing a bunch of losers and rejects beat the jocks and f*&k the cheerleaders. Additionally, there have got to be at least a dozen LMFAO lines in that movie.

The thing that I recently came to realize is that is Timothy Busfield (Elliot in Thirty-Something) playing Poindexter. I'll have to take this title off my shelf at least 3-4 times per year. This movie is the prescription for any guy that had a hard time in high school. I'm glad that they've made multiple sequels, however, IMO they come no where near the brilliance of the original.

God I love this movie....one of my favorite comedies ever.

I watched part 2 the other day though, and it wasn't very good. It was a complete rip off of the first one, which wouldn't be too bad, except for the fact that Takashi wasn't on there.

Applejack - Exactly! No Takashi = Nerds-Lite. I kept thinking that he had the most hilarious lines in #1. Example: "I see your point", "Hairpie...Hairpie", "I drink to that", "It's like salad", and I could go on.

I love the the ending with WATC by Queen. "No one will be free until nerd persecution ends"

Yet another "nerd" exacts out his revenge on those that were stronger than he and tormented him. If only poor Andy had gotten his hands on a copy of ROTN and watched it, he might have felt okay about his big ears and puny frame. I know that this movie made me think more than twice about living out my violent fantasies on those that took pleasure in mocking me during high school.

Someone else in another forum pointed out that perhaps he did watch the movie and just agreed with Booger's assessment of the situation "...Blow the f%$#kers up"
