Just purchased the direct-to-video release of "Bartok the Magnificent", and thought I'd post my reaction. Bartok was the sidekick and comic relief character from "Anastasia" played very effectively by Mr. Hank Azaria; best known (in my mind) as the voice of Apu on "The Simpsons". This DVD is kind of a spinoff from Anastasia. More importantly, it was directed by Don Bluth himself- not some other animation house, as one would expect. The animation, while not always as good as the work found in his features (see "The Secret of NIMH"), still has the high-quality commonly found in Don Bluth's movies. This was definitely produced with young children in mind, but a lot better than it looks. "All Dogs Go To Heaven 2" this is not. I give it about three stars out of five.
