I have it on pre-order. I haven't seen it since it was at the movies so it would be like the first time, almost!

You know, I used to think it was awful that life was so unfair. Then I thought, wouldn't it be much worst if life were fair, and all the terrible things that happen to us come because we actually deserve them? So now I take great comfort in the general hostility and unfairness of the universe. Marcus Cole, Babylon5

I agree. I thought Star Trek II and III best captured the spirit of the original series. Bones, Spock and Kirk are all in fine form.
Me? I've been holding out for the first Star Trek movie before I buy any of them. Why Paramount released these in reverse order I'll never know........but I do have all of the TV show volumes they've released so far. Can't wait for "The City on the Edge of Forever" and "Errand of Mercy"......two of my favorite episodes due out July 11!

They're releasing them backwards because the earlier movies (#6-9) all had acceptable source material available, but the older films needed remastering. I think they released them in reverse to get titles out as quickly as possible (and to get some revenue to help fund the remastering work, I suppose).

Wrath of Khan was without a doubt the best Star Trek movie made to date. I have no idea how good the transfer will be, and I am disappointed that the Star Trek folks don't see fit to release their DVDs with any decent extras, but I have been waiting for this movie to come out on DVD since I got my player.

I agree with all...the best ST movie by far. I hope they do the DVD justice.

I agree with HOC that Star Trek 2 was by far the best. I'm sure everyone can remember how pathetic the 1st one was. I was relieved and could not have ben happier with the 2nd outing. No Star Trek movie has come close since. I personally liked the 6th one 2nd best and the 8th 3rd. Start TRek 3 and 4 were next.

Without the deleted scenes added (which were included the first time this movie was aired on public television), you might as well save your money and buy the video at 1/3 the cost.

speaking of that deleted footage.Does anyone have it on VHS.it was on television at a time when VCRs were abundant.I actually have the audio(I taped it offair onto my old cassette deck as i was watching it because my dad was watching something else at the time)and I recently dubbed it onto my old vhs of the film to see how much of it was different.Im suprised the DVD didn't include this cut.Its terrific.
