I saw this dvd in the circuit city and I like this movie BUT I want to know the quality of this dvd. Is it nice ? (I have been so paranoid ever since I bought the "Highlander" )
According to the Amazon.com, there is a new re-release coming on Oct 31 2000. Should I wait for the new one ? Thanks!

Do not bother with the version currently floating around out there...the release in October is a 20th anniversary edition with(if I remember correctly) 5.1 DD...the first version which I had before I sold it on ebay was mono.....video was grainy. From what I hear, this new edition is going to be offering extras which the first one did not include. As far as the transfer, I am not sure....hopefully they make this a remastered version.

djones is correct. i own the current version of Somewere in Time & it is not very good. the only reason i got it was b/c i love the movie & when i got it a year ago, i though it very unlikely that a special edition of this movie would come out.
now that a Special Edition has been tenatively announced, i would definitely wait on it. the version that is out now is indeed mono. sound is clear but it is still mono. transfer is pretty poor. very grainy & soft. the only extras are some production notes & cast info.
wait for the Special Edition!!!!
