Not at all - there are some great videos on here. Cat Power, AMAZING Yo La Tengo "Sugarcube" video, Cornelius, just to name a few. A solid set of great videos (for the most part) that you'll have trouble ever catching on MTV, especially since 120 Minutes (when it's even on) seems to currently favor the Powerman5000-brand of annoying rap-rock, which I can't stand...
Anyways, editorializing aside, it's a really cool collection. I'll admit that I went through the same "do I really need this?" after I placed the order, but I've really enjoyed it.

Three disks? Be still my heart!
It amazes me that Matador would be so mum about this DVD: I only heard about it as an offhand remark on their mailing list. Trying to find somebody who'd ship it was almost as difficult as finding any details about it.
While I know that distribution-wise Matador's the apex of the indie world, let's hope there are more indie releases on DVD. Too many Billy Joel DVDs and not enough Apples in Stereo, say.
Thanks for the replies...

Is it just me, or does express.com have the wrong price?

Does it infact have 3 discs? Express lists it as only having 1 disc.

That 3 disc set is a CD release. The DVD is 1 disc and has 26 videos:
1. Pyromaniax/BackDraft – Arsonists
2. Palomine - Bettie Serveert
3. Cross Bones Styles - Cat Power
4. Nude As The News - Cat Power
5. Satanic Rockers - Chain Gang
6. Break Up Your Band - Chavez
7. Unreal Is Here - Chavez
8. Star Fruits Surf Rider - Cornelius
9. Auditorium/Motor Away - Guided By Voices
10. Jet Generation - Guitar Wolf
11. Honeycomb - Helium
12. Pat's Trick - Helium
13. Range Life - Pavement
14. Cut Your Hair - Pavement
15. Jealousy - Liz Phair
16. I Hear A Symphony - Pizzicato Five
17. Twiggy Twiggy - Pizzicato Five
18. Rollercoaster - Railroad Jerk
19. Christmas Trip - Run On
20. Wet Firecracker - Silkworm
21. Solex All Licketysplit - Solex
22. Talk About The Blues - The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion
23. Flavor - The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion
24. Not Turning Off - Spoon
25. Sugarcube - Yo La Tengo
26. From A Motel 6 - Yo La Tengo
$13.99 is a bargain for this DVD, and $9.99 is a real bargain for the CD set.

Got an e-mail from somebody here asking about this 1-disc or 3-disc question. Looks like it has been answered above, but just wanted to add in my $0.02 - the DVD is only one disc, not three. It does have two "programs" on it, one is the Everything is Nice set of videos, and then there are about 12 other videos (see list above). So, it has more than the VHS, looks and sounds pretty good (except for the Liz Phair video, which for some reason sounds muffled and crappy).
The 3-CD set is also pretty good, but nothing amazing. Somehow I prefer most of these bands in album form, rather than stuck together on a compilation. Most of them have fairly well-constructed CDs/LPs (Yo La Tengo especially comes to mind) and to me the songs lose a little power being jumbled together on a compilation. But again, just my opinion.
