I would say it is the usual not that great transfer rom MGM. I bought it along time ago and remeber seeing it in the theater and didnt like it much then either. Very slow, the last 30-45 minutes or so were okay and it ends, if you dont fall asleep before the end. Ther are alot better WW II titles out there like Patton, Story of G.I. JOE, Stalag 17, Guns of Navarone (not Force 10 from Navarone, transfer was awful I thought).

I for one found the movie pretty good. I had no trouble falling asleep. The sound and video quality is well preserved for being such an old film. If you like WWII movies, I suggest buying it. Just know that you are not getting a Saving Private Ryan out of the purchase.

Thoughts on A Bridge Too Far
Hi All,
Just wanted to get some people's thoughts on the recently released A Bridge Too Far. Having just seen the DVD in its entirety, it seems that the print they used was a bit old and the sound left something to be desired. Fantastic film though...would like to see a cleaned up SE or CE though. What are your thoughts?

Not my favorite movie, either. Probably for the same pacing reason. Great cast though and an interesting subject.

I know you didn't ask about the movie, but I had to bring up the New Yorker's review of the movie back when it was released:
"A Bridge Too Far
... and a movie too long."
That was their whole review. Not that I agree, but I thought it was pretty funny.

yep, for $8.99 I was very pleased. It looks and sounds better than most older movies.
It's also a better movie than I rembered it being. I think the movie's one flaw is in trying to convey too much. Too many characters and scenes make it a little hard to follow.

This movie is priced right but the reviews are not great and there is a conflict in the sound review. If anyone has this please let me know if there is surround audio.
One reviewer said the surround was great while most of the other reviewers claim two channel up front sound. What?
Teisco (bet you don't know what the heck that is)
