I was thinking about picking this up. How does it look and sound?

Yep, I am up here on Tatooine, hanging out with Salacious Crumb and listening to my man Max Rebo, getting ready watch the Rancor monster kill some poor soul!

Hi Jabba,
I own this disc and it has been awhile since I viewed it but from what I remember, the video was decent and so was the audio.....I previously owned the laserdisc so obviously there were improvements with the DVD......I would recommend it to anyone if for any reason due to the awesome story and the cast...Patrick Swayze, C. Thomas Howell, Leah Thompson, Powers Boothe, and Charlie Sheen. OOPS....I forgot Jennifer Grey!!! Buy it!!!

This is a great, powerful movie, but the video looks like it was a transfer from a Blockbuster used VHS. A lot of grain, especially evident in the opening scene "headlines". But don't let this dissuade you from getting it at all -- I love this film!

Ahh, another of my favorite movies (see The 'Burbs thread). Good actors...rampant patriotism...Jennifer Grey before she butchered hereself...World War 3...what more can you ask for? Sound is only DD 2.0 and video could be better (not bad though); however, this is probably the only version od this movie we will ever see on DVD. If you are a fan, get it.

Re: Review wanted: Red Dawn
Clearly a title worth owning on DVD
I just picked up the Collectors Edition......I must [email protected], Red dawn hasn't looked better. Now, if we can only get this on Bluray
Sorry for reviving a 10yr old thread, but come on, WOLVERINES.....
I thought the review was well written.....
