I was gonna ask if anyone knew the difference between the MST3K uncut version and the synapse version, but did my own homework and found this at the synapse-films website:
"Our release of BRAIN THAT WOULDN'T DIE is definitely coming soon and will be worth the wait. I am here to tell you all that our version will be FAR superior to the recently released Rhino MST3K edition. We worked from a totally uncut print. We did a new, digital wetgate transfer, restored in the windowboxed film format to show you more picture information that what a standard widescreen transfer would show. A little bird told me that the recent Rhino DVD release version was actually pulled from a 3/4 UMATIC analog tape (I know the guy that supplied them with their print for the TV show)! Believe me when I say our is a VAST improvement. We have had a few snafus come up with the audio recently (which was a fault of the studio doing our audio work, not a problem with the elements we used) and we've cut off their hands as punishment. All kidding aside, the audio should be fixed by Friday, May 5th and it'll go right to the DVD authoring facility from there."
Since Bigstar so graciously cancelled my pre-order from the 99 cent shipping days, I'll wait for Noel's review of this classic and use a jaboom GC at amazon.
