Leon is out on Region 2 DVD on Monday(?), and I was considering buying it....I like the sound of the film, but have never heard anything about it....
Has anyone seen this film, and if so, would you recommend it?
What extras are on the DVD?
Any opinions welcomed...Cheers

Great movie but wait and see is the uncut

order a NTSC region 2 copy from Japan like the one I have <HR>
How did/do you go about ordering Japaneese DVD's?
Are there any reliable and cheap on-line e-tailors that would ship it to the UK for a fair price?
Cheers

The European release is not the uncut "Integral Version" that is found on the Japanese Region 2 NTSC DVD.
Both the European "Leon" and the American "The Professional" are 109 minutes long, while the "Integral Version" is 133 minutes. I do believe that a European "Integral Version" is planned, but I'm not sure when.
Welshlad, you can find the "Integral Version" at www.cdjapan.co.jp/ for about $50 US, but beware that it is NTSC, so you will need to make sure your PAL system can play it.
They are very reliable and got my copy to me in a matter of days. This DVD is the main reason I purchased a second, region free, DVD player. It is worth every penny, even if it did shoot my average cost all to heck.

A new Special Edition of "The Professional(with a "Directo's Cut" -- presumably the full Integral version) was slated for U.S. release in late July. Haven't heard any news lately, and haven't yet seen it show up anywhere as a preorder, but it might be worth waiting a little while before shelling out the big bucks elsewhere.

There are at least three different cuts of Leon about.
The regular US/European version.
A French version (called version longe I believe).
The Version Integrale on Japanese DVD.
I have the Japanese version. It's the mutts nuts. Well worth the cost.

Welshlad - I got my copy from a dealer in Romford. They're online. Can't remember their name - do a search. It was about 30 notes.
