i got this movie thru Columbia House for one of my $19.99 purchases. it is one of their few $19.99 movies that is a special edition & is well worth the price in my opinion.
i had not seen this movie since i saw it in the theaters back in 1990 but i always remembered it. it is a movie that stays with you if you enjoy tales of death. it has a great documentary, 3 deleted scenes with & without commentary, a full length commentary, trailers, & production notes. also is widescreen with DD5.1.
if you are one of those people (lik i am) that loves to discuss religion, death, after-life, etc. check this movie out.
anyone else who has seen it, tell me what you thought of it.

It was probably the best one you could get for free with all the Artisan promotions, and I did. Extras are plentiful. When someone else who is jaded like me starts the conversation, "there's no movies made in the last 20 years that are truly scary", it always ends the debate.

I agree; very nice disc with very nice supplements. One of the deleted scenes is extremely interesting, and contains a key line from the trailer not included in the actual film. This is probably the scariest movie I've ever seen, esp the first viewing.

IIRC it is the only DVD w/ the audio commentary as an easter egg
I don't have the box in front of me, but I don't recall there being anything on the box about it. Websites list it, but if you bought it from a store what a great surprise

This is one of those movies I love and keep wanting to buy, but never get around to it. Now that I have read these reviews about the extras, I just may get around to it.
