Good movie, not so good DVD. Heard that the LaserDisc version was amazing. Does this mean a special edition is in the future? I can't believe no one talks about this movie much here.

There was a criterion laserdisc for Raging Bull. However, the rights to the film are held by MGM, who refuse to license their films to other companies for dvd release. The laserdisc supplements will not be coming to dvd anytime soon, if ever. Even though the disc isn't great, you might as well get it if you have to have the movie.

True, not many extras on this disc. This is my top movie, however, and the DVD transfer is great. Buy it now. If a SE comes out, you can always eBay the first one and grab the new release. We need to start an all Raging Bull thread.
