It is much better than the American version (which was a good flick to start with). You get a much stronger sense of the characters and their relationships with each other. Currently, LEON is only available as a region 2 DVD but I've heard that an American release is coming soon.

For a full list of differences, go to http://www.imdb.com/ , search for "Leon", and click on the "Alternate Versions" link.

In particular someone posted a link to a good Leon web site.
Something else to note, Leon is actually the exact same movie as The Professional, it was just named differently in Europe. It's "Leon: Version Integral" that was released in Japan and other places that contains 23 minutes of additional footage mostly dealing with Matilda and Leon's relationship. The exact differences are listed at the www.imdb.com site as a previous poster mentioned.

GeneralZod: I'll probably upload a couple clips this weekend anyway if I have time (they were hell to encode, so might as well let someone get some use out of them).
By the way, no one has mentioned WHY these 23 minutes were cut from the American release. The rationale is that these scenes are considered too controversial for American audiences to handle: They included scenes such as Matilda playing Russian Roulette, Matilda shooting a pistol at someone, and Matilda making sexual advances at Leon.
