Looking for some opinions on this film and New Line DVD, saw a bit of it at my friend's house and it seemed like a film I'd like to own.

The film is very good, I generally am not an Altman fan but I thought this was by far the best work of his I've seen so far. Definitely worth getting esp. since it's a NL Platinum Series. It has a commentary, deleted scenes, trailer, and some other things I believe

This is a great disc; I highly recommend it.

The Player is a very good and very entertaining movie, one of my favorites of the 90's. I don't know if you're familiar with Altman's other work, but I think this is one of his best along with Short Cuts, MASH and Nashville. Tim Robbins is excellent in the film, and there are camoes from just about every celebrity you can think of.

The DVD is really good too. Unfortunately, the extras are on the flip side of the disc. It has a very good commentary with Altman and some other guy, deleted scenes, a trailer, and an interview with Altman.

So the DVD isn't necessarily a "flipper"? Just movie on one side extras on the other side, like "Lethal Weapon 4"?

I swear, I must be an idiot, because I didn't even realize it had come out. Like I said before, I was very naive back when I first got my DVD player 2 years ago.
