I apologize if this is in the wrong forum. This forum seemed to be the best fit for my question...
Can anyone recommend a good sound sequence on DVD that has a pan from left to right or vice versa? I am experimenting with the placement of my left/right main speakers in relationship to my listening position.
Thanks.

DVD Talk Gold Edition
sotie,
you may want to rent either Video Essentials or the AVIA Guide to the Home Theater DVD. Both of these come with precise surround sound examples aimed to optimizing your audio and video settings.
Among the normal DVDs, the first one that comes to mind is Bug's Life. It uses a lot of discrete surround sound effects of insects flying. However, I'd be wary of using these sound effects to setup your speakers (as you have no way of knowing how the sound was originally intended to be heard)
