I did not particularly enjoy it, but it is regarded as an important and classic foreign film. It deals with a young boy's childhood. Anyways, supplements include 2 commentaries (one in French, which didn't help me, and another by a film critic that was very scholarly) and a restoration demonstration.
I'm sure that others in this forum like the film a great deal more than I did.

I guess I'll preface my comments by saying that if you are looking for an introduction to Francois Truffaut films, this is probably not a good one to start with, not because it is an inferior film (it is one of his great films IMHO), but because it is a little different from his other films (except for his other semi-autobiographical films). 400 Blows is highly autobiographical, narrative styled, and employs some good camera work (such as the freeze frame of the final scene). This is more of an adolescent ennui story than a "kid self-destructing" movie. The commentary was revelatory for me, because I didn't really know much of Truffaut's early life.
However, if you are interested in building a Truffaut DVD library, I'd highly recommend "400 Blows" along with "Jules and Jim", "The Woman Next Door", "The Last Metro", and "Shoot the Piano Player".
