Movie:
I haven't seen this movie since it first played in the theaters, and I'm not very familiar with Bruce Lee's life story, but I thought the film was very entertaining. If this movie is even getting his life half right, Mr. Lee led a very interesting life.
I watched parts of it again when I finally received my copy and I have to say that I know think the acting was a little stilted. Still, I was drawn into his life story again and could have watched it all over again (wife came home so I had to stop
). As far as biopics go, this is a very good one in my opinion.
The fight scenes are well choreographed (near as my neophyte eyes can tell) and as I remember the portrayal of the styles of the time was well done.
Disc:
I didn't really study it, but the transfer looked good to me. I believe it is anamorphic too.
When you first put in the disc it starts up with a quote from Bruce Lee and then goes into a 6 minute spoken introduction by his wife, Linda, with a picture montage and is followed by the feature presentation.
The disc also contains THREE PAGES of extras! This includes a director's commentary. I listened to about 5-10 minutes of it, and if that was representative, then the rest of the commentary should be fairly entertaining and informative.
There's also Jason Scott Lee's screen test, trailers, a 6 minute making of featurette, storyboards of movie scenes, an interview with Bruce Lee, photos of the movie and the man, and MORE!
If you have any interest in Bruce Lee, you HAVE to buy this disc.
If you like bio pics then I think you will be impressed by this one.
If you like a good movie with a little action and an interesting story, then you should at least consider renting this.

DVD Talk Legend
I have this disc and my biggest complaint was it was very difficult to find this one discounted. It is very rarely on anyones sale list. As it was said, the acting is not exactly first rate and it common knowlegde they took much artistic license with his life story. However I must admit I liked the story, good fights, good looking disc and extra information and pictures about the man. It is a recommended disc from my collection.

Let me start by saying that the movie was very good.
DVD was just a rehash of the Special Edition LD
and it is NOT anamorphically enhanced. I'm watching it zoomed on my 16:9 HD set and the picture is not that great. The beginning looks good however but it deteriorates from there. The most annoying problem is the shimmer in some scenes and much overly done edge enhancement.
