In the thread on Das Boot, a couple of people mentioned a movie called "Stalingrad". They only said enough to pick my interest. Sounds like those who have seen it really liked it. Anyone cares to share some more insights on this movie? What's the plot? When was it made? Etc.
Thanks.

To answer some of your questions, you may wish to consult www.imdb.com . I've never seen the movie in question myself.

Stalingrad is an interesting WII film of the German battle for Stalingrad. I saw this film for the first time at a film festival and enjoyed it very much. The film shows the horrors of war and the difficulty the German's had dealing with supplies and the bitter Russian winter.
I bought the DVD shortly after I got my first player and was somewhat disappointed with the disk's quality. This is NOT the worst transfer I've ever seen, but its also not the best. I would suggest that you rent this one and maybe use one of the free Netflix rentals.
