The "coming of age" picture won an Oscar in 1980 for cinematography and was one of the highest grossing films of that year (43.6 million). The DVD insert says the 3.5 million project is:
"A low-keyed love story stressing innocent eroticism."
As a healthy, active red-blooded male, I couldn't control my urge to fast forward through the "story and artist nature scenes" to the steamy stuff. It does push the line in terms of naked kids on film.
When I watched the movie from the beginning with the writer and director commentary track this morning, I was able to sit through the "staged script" and appreciate the film art.
Brooke Shields Personal Photo Album sucks big time. It is simply a bunch of under exposed (for NTSC screens) snap shots.
DVD
Rating: 7 (1-10) It is a good visual flick with insightful commentary. If you are looking for video wall paper, this ones for you!

Does anyone know if the CH version of this film is the Special Edition? It does not indicate that it is and the picture does not have the Special Edition header, but I am not aware of any other versions. Thanks.
