Movie:
Great film. Best comedy I've seen in years, and one of the best films I saw last year. Dry, character-based humor, vis-a-vis Midnight Run. Most realistic look at high school ever made. Not a bunch of 25 year old pretty-people trying to play seventeen year old kids ala John Hughes' movies. This movie doesn't forget that high school kids are just that -- kids. Great character driven film with outstanding writing -- which, I think is the foundation for a great film.
Image:
Lacking. Colors are not vibrant, but I think the director intended it that way. But, the image is clean and sharp. Grain is present is some scenes, but not obnoxiously so.
Sound:
DD5.1. Nothing to write home about. But, this ain't Star Wars we're talking about here. Really no need for balls-to-the-wall sound effects.
Extras:
Commentary is good. I never knew this was such a deep film -- a lot of symbolism is revealed in the commentary. No trailer. Anamorphic transfer is a plus.

I enjoyed it a lot too. Something about the situational humor that struck very close to home. The way the movie ended left a bad taste in my mouth, but that doesn't mean it was bad. It was just convincing enough to make me get bitter about one of my favorite goody goody young actresses (Reese Witherspoon). It says something about a movie when it makes me like not feeling good at the end.
I made a whole Matthew Broderick day of it by watching my "Ferris" disc in order to put that good feeling back in me.

Hmmm. There was a another thread about this, but I'll post here.
I thought the movie was good, but hardly the best nor the funniest movie I've seen this year. I enjoyed the film, but I probably wouldn't buy it unless it was a really good deal.
Oh, and for the record, I didn't care for Rushmore much at all. People rave about this movie -- i don't understand. I won't say it was bad, but just not my cup o tea.
