I've seen the movie, and I loved it. I'm not much into anime, but it is way different from everything I've seen, kinda like the Maus books are so much different than comic books (or even most comic novels). Are the limited extras any good, and is the transfer/translation good?

Extras? There were extras? Oops... I watched the movie and pulled the disc out of my player right away to try and forget this extremely depressing (yet very good) movie.
The transfer is an earlier one, and not as pristine as Lain, but is quite good. I believe the translation was done well also, Central Park Media don't usually skimp on that stuff. (As far as I know...)
