Since DivaDee is having this sale, I'd like to pick up a couple titles. Unfortunately, I haven't seen too many, so I need some help. I'm looking for good picture quality and erotic scenes (no hardcore, wall-to-wall).

If you could please sugget a couple I'd appreciate it.

I don't know if you've seen my earlier posts but I would recommend:

Search for the Snow Leopard
Cost of Lust (excellent foreign movie but menu doesn't work)
Country Comfort (good movie plus neat extras)

Hopefully you'll get some more feedback -I'm curious what others like too.

If you want the BEST adult dvd out there, look no further than the Sex/Sex2:Fate combo. Two award winning movies on one side of a dvd! Not too hardcore, VERY couple-friendly, a terrific cast, and visually great. A classic.

I've seen a few dozen adult movies on DVD. Here's my picks:

Cost of Lust - a nice change of pace. The complete opposite of the typical American adult title. The performers are attractive and without surgical augmentation.

New Wave Hookers 5 - Great special effects for an adult film and a hilarious Ron Jeremy non-sex-role as Silky Smooth, the dancing pimp.

Search for the Snow Leopard - this may be the absolute best adult DVD I have seen. Asia is great in this role. The camera work is better than most mainstream "B" movies. Great couples movie. At least half of the movie is gorgeous scenery and dialog. This is the perfect "introductory" adult DVD movie for those less familiar with the stuff.

What is it about Flashpoint? So many people absolutely love this movie. I thought it was really well done but not the greatest adult DVD ever. Is it a woman in uniform thing?

It appears that we have many of the same tastes. I was actually just writing about Michael Ninn (New Wave Hookers 5) for our upcoming Dee's Choice section.

If you can find it, I recommend The Dinner Party. Feature-wise, it's pretty shallow, but it was one of the best adult films I saw back in the bad old days of VHS. Great cast, good action, and the acting wasn't half bad, either.

Unfortunately, I can recommend a lot to stay away from...

Nymph (Chasey Lain's supposed last flick)

I have about 15 others, but those 3 stick in my mind.

I noticed the original New Wave Hookers is finally available on DVD. Highly recommended.

I you want to hear a commentary or two on 1 xxx-DVD, I would recommend The Devil in Miss Jones Part 6, starring Stacey Valentine and Randy Spears. The commentary from the actors features Stacey Valentine and a redhead (can't recall the name) and the other commentary is done by the director/writer I believe. I think the actor commentary was better than the dialog in the movie.
Some the scenes were a bit long, but it was quite funny to see the wrestle-mania scene where Stacey did the whole scene wearing a baby blue wrestler's mask.

The Dinner Party is by the same studio as Search for the Snow Leopard (Ultimate.) I'll have to check that one out.

You got to love commentary. I'm a big fan of behind the scenes too. "Hey buddy, I'm drenched here, can you grab me a towel?"

One quick question....Is the 'Clinton Oral-office' out on DVD yet????...

I think that the one you're looking for is 'Scenes from the Oral Office'. DiVaDee has it. It's from Digital Playground. DP normally does a great job with their DVDs. I haven't seen this particular one. (yet)

I've only bought a few, but of those, the one I liekn the best is the "Top 25 Porn Stars of All Time", which has some VERY funny audio commentary from a Porn director and an actress. Gives you a lot of inside dope on the porno scene from 1970's to today.

Other than that, of the newer stuff, I like Latex which was pretty "arty" for a porno flick, and Bad Wives is pretty okay too.

None of these will make you forget "King Lear", but for what they are, they are pretty cool.

Thanks Steph! After looking at your site for a month now wondering what and when a good time to buy would be I bought Country Comfort.

I personally like Randy West's Up and Cummers but the wife doesn't like all the hardcore and lesbian scenes. Which I can dream but want my wife to be turned on not off.

I decided to do something crazy. I bought 4 titles (to get the free shipping) with the intent on keeping two and Ebaying two, if Ebay can be used as a verb.

Based on reccomendations here I got:

Flashpoint
Search for the Snow Leopard
Sex / Sex 2
Rocki Road's Wet Dreams

So far, Flashpoint was surprisingly good, but not really for couples. Must be a guy thing. Snow Leopard was really good. I was very impressed. Note that I haven't watched these in their entirety, but skipped through them.

I'll let you know about the others.
