Out Of Sight

When I first got Get Shorty, and I'd seen Pulp Fiction, I wondered what was next as far as Elmore James. Out Of Sight is fantastic - I've probably watched it three times, and when your library's a 100+, that says something! From the menus, to the extras, to the DVD's movie content and sound it is amazing! I love the contrast between the Miami shots and the Detroit ones - literally day and night respectively. This movie made me go out and hunt down the soundtrack - my favorite "song" is called Jailbreak on the DVD, but it's I Think You Flooded It on the CD! If you get a chance, check it out - Warning: the DTS version has limited extras, as I've heard most DTS DVDs do.

I agree, the soundtrack for "Out of Sight" is excellent. All the original music on the soundtrack is by a guy named David Holmes and sounds very cool. And all the songs by other artists on there are great also (Isley Brothers, Willie Bobo, etc.) Plus, they use snippets of dialogue from the film (ala the "Pulp Fiction" soundtrack) to very good effect.

First, "Pulp Fiction" isn't Elmore Leonard, exactly. Inspired by Elmore Leonard's style, but not written by him.
As far as other Leonard movies go, "Touch" with Chris Walken and Skeet Ulrich is ok, not as good as "Out of Sight" (great) or "Get Shorty" (good).
I agree completely about the "Out of Sight" filmtrack. I left the theater for this one in the best mood I'd been in weeks because the last song was just so funky and cool. It literally had my fingers snapping. What a great movie!

"Out Of Sight" is one of my Top 10 favorites. Seen it at least 10 times and always pick up on something new. I wont even loan it out, just incase I need a "Out Of Sight" fix!
