I'm not one to write extravegant DVD reviews, but here's what I thought of Fled which I saw tonight.
Fled's plot is predictable and unplausable. There is lots of action, shootouts, and some really cool chase scenes including one on motorcycles.
The video is decent. I didn't notice any artifacts are grain. The colors didn't exactly jump out at me though.
Then comes the sound. WOW!! This DVD makes fantastic use of the rear channels. The rear channels are used for many excellent panning effects, gunshots, ricochets, and ambient city/crowd noises. A few times, the rear channels made me jump. Few other DVD's sound as good as this one.
I give it a B+ on video, A+ on sound, F+ on extras. You get a trailer and that's it. If you occasionally like to sit back, not think too much, and be entertained (or if you just love awesome 5.1 sound), this DVD is worth a rental. The sound really makes this disk. If not for the sound, I'd steer clear of it as there wouldn't be much else to appreciate.
