You got to get it!
I got mine from 800.com for $11.45
It is more of a mental movie than who done it.
I really love it and speading the news.
Watch it first or maybe two times...then read reviews about it.

Let me know how you feel about it.

Hello Folks,
It so happens that I watched my rented copy of Insomnia on Friday evening. The video looked very good throughout the entire film, although I found the suspenseful story line a bit tedious and slow moving for my taste. It certainly did not live up to its title for me...Insomnia, I slept like a baby shortly thereafter!
PS - For a Criterion DVD I was a bit disappointed in the extra's, their were none.

The wonderful Swedish actor Stellan Skarsgard stars as a celebrated and troubled detective brought into Northern Norway to solve the homicide of a teenage girl.
The story structure is both tight and intentionally ambiguous and relies more on character than mystery aspects--similar to BBC police/crime series like "Cracker" and "Prime Suspect" than to recent American thrillers like "Seven" and "Kiss The Girls". It's not a fast moving film and it requires that the viewer pay attention to subtle details.
Visually, it's quite stylish. The camera is always roaming through fog-shrouded vistas, underground tunnels and rooms soaked with blinding sunlight.
The video transfer of this disc--Criterion's first anamorphic transfer--is outstanding. Not a trace of artifacting or pixelation. It's crystal clear and absolutely gorgeous.
The film's great electronic music underscores the cool menus and for extras you get the theatrical trailer and a tv spot. As always with Criterion, subtitles are optional.
Definitely worth adding to your collection if you have a taste for the morbid, unique and interesting.
