Has anyone seen My Father Is A Hero on DVD by any chance? I am wondering if the picture transfer is very nice quality or better than the VHS version of the movie. It was a good movie though. Thanks.

I have it. There's good news, and then there's some bad news. The good news is that it's a great Jet Li film, and the transfer is about on par with every other HK import you've seen on DVD. The image is a bit sharper than some older HK titles, and there isn't a lot of shadow detail here. The subs are also "switch-offable". The bad news is that the box is molded in yucky blue plastic, and the menu graphics are the worst I've ever seen on a DVD. Still, if you can get past that, it is one of the great Jet Li movies, and deserves an American theatrical release like Black mask.
