I just received my anxiously awaited order of VIRUS with Jamie Lee Curtis. This Universal DVD has an excellent anamorphic video transfer and some great DD 5.1 sound. It even has some fairly deep menus with lots of extras. It's too bad though that film itself has some ridiculous characters who detract from the main story line. I saw a post by someone somewhere else that referred to the movie as an "unintentional comedy". I think they're right. About half way through the story two of the crew members begin to work on their own against the survival efforts of the others. Donald Sutherland's captain character has no credibilty whatsoever. It seemed to me that director John Bruno changed his mind in the middle of the story, or maybe it was the screenwriter.
Anyway, the film does have some great surround sound, special effects, and scares. I'm interested to hear what others on the forum think.

Kind of an obvious statement, but if a movie is unintentionally funny, then it wasn't intended to be funny. Though Virus was a somewhat terrible movie, I think the director saw it as a serious sci-fi movie, Unfortunately, because the characters and plot were so bad, people ended up laughing at the stupidity. Thing is, I believe the movie had a good premise and could have been good given a better director.
