It doesn't look like The Shawshank Redemption will be 16X9 enhanced looking at Amazon.com's info. Can anybody confirm this?

Please, somebody correct me if I'm wrong, but if I'm not mistaken, amazon's info is often less than accurate - especially in reference to future releases... I wouldn't sweat it until you saw it somewhere else.

amazon's info is all wrong--they list the studio releasing the disc as New Line, rather than Warner Bros. And the disc is NOT coming out Sept.1. However, I would guess that when the disc does come out, it will be 16 x 9 enhanced--I think warner enhances most of their big titles.

I read somewhere that it wasn't going to be 5.1 but rather DD2.0. Not good to me. . .

I wouldn't get too worked up about 5.1 with Shawshank. How many scenes can you think of that would benefit from 5.1? Dolby Surround should be more than sufficient.

Also, I would totally discount whatever info is on the Amazon site.
