I have just earned a $10 GC at CDnow. I was looking at the list that Kosh provided and struggling to find a title that I wanted bad enough. Their selection is limited.
I did manage to narrow it down to 10 different titles I've heard good things about, but never seen. Which of these would you go with..?
1) Much Ado about Nothing ($23.99)
2) Moonstruck ($19.99)
3) Heart and Souls ($19.99)
4) Chances Are ($23.99)
5) Claires Knee ($23.99)
6) My Life to Live ($23.99)
7) In the Name of the Father ($19.99)
8) Monty Python's: Meaning of Life ($23.99)
9) Diabolique (Criterion)($23.99)
10)Mean Streets ($19.99)

Moonstruck: This is one of my favorite movies. Unfortunately, it's a pan and scan. On the positive side, since it's in a 4:3 aspect ratio, the fact that it's not 16x9 enhanced is not a negative.
But seriously, if you haven't seen this movie, and you like romantic comedies, and Italian families, you'll love this movie. I think they may eventually come out with a widescreen version, but who knows when that will be?
Diabolique: I've heard really good things about this movie, which was (apparently) poorly remade here in the US recently. But you can PM this at reel (against buy.com) for 14.99, so I'd get it there instead of using a coupon.
I haven't even heard of the others (except Much Ado About Nothing, but I haven't seen the movie/ and MP The Meaning of Life, which I didn't really understand) so that's all I can help you with.
Hope that helps some.

I'd have to go with either
1)Mean Streets (If you're a fan of Scorcese, you should enjoy this)
2)In the Name of the Father (Great acting by Daniel Day-Lewis and Pete Postlethwaite)

Another vote for In the Name of the Father. A great true story about injustice in 1970s Ireland. Daniel Day Lewis is superb here, as is the rest of the cast. The cinematography is excellent, and the story moving & memorable. I also like to hear the thick Irish accents in these movies. Mean Streets is also powerful, but plays like more of a student film compared to the stuff he'd do later like Goodfellas. Name of the Father.

Get Mean Streets. Scorsese is God!!! If for some reason you don't like Scorsese, go with In The Name Of The Father...another great film.

Thanks, everyone. I decided to purchase both "Moonstruck" and "Mean Streets". I was going to use the $20 off $40 purchase coupon from CD NOW and a $10 freeride GC I had saved up. The only thing I wasn't counting on is that the GC isn't issued Immediately. Supposedly you get an email in about two weeks. By then the $20 off coupon will have expired. Oh well, I try...I will still get these two titles from CD Now, but it may not be such a bargain. Thanks to you all for helping me decide. It's nice to know what movies other people enjoy..
