I have the laserdisc version, which I used to
set up my Sony XBR 53" rear projection set.

The difference before and after (easy to compare since the sony has a separate settings
for each video input) was astounding.

Get it.

I just rented this from NetFlix. The adjustments to the controls on my 45" Mitsubishi didn't seem to make a large difference, but it did show some improvements. If you're not going to be changing your system, I would rent it (I had some free rentals and didn't want to pay $35). You can always buy it later.

Hope this helps

I bought the dvd and have been extremely pleased with the results.

I was going to rent it, but the thought of hitting the picture reset button, relocating the speakers, or moving my entire system was enough to make the purchase worthwhile.

I also bought the sound meter recommended on the DVD to fine tune the system. The results have been worth every penny.

Hope this helps.
