Fire In The Sky: Fire In The Sky (1993) prefigured The X-Files by a couple of years but is very much in that vein, from a time when UFOs and alien abductions were still cranking away in popularity in the United States zeitgeist. (As opposed to the early 2020s, when the US government has opened up and admitted the large-ish number of previously-classified UFO encounters, which are more commonly believed to be just weird unexplained phenomena and not actual flying saucers.) Featuring a curious cast and unique special effects, Fire In The Sky plays something like a more traditional drama with an investigation feel, rather than the alien horror feature theatrical trailers were selling.
