DVD Talk review of 'Doctor Who: Kinda'
Wow, reading your review brought back memories as I also grew up watching the Doctor on WVIZ and it sounds like the same time frame as yourself (the first episode I remember was during the 3rd Doctor). Man I do not miss their pledge drives breaks in the middle of episodes.
I read Justin Felix's DVD review of Doctor Who: Kinda at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=47351 and...

Yes, and WVIZ did something different with the program. They edited the serials into movie-length episodes. It was like having a new Doctor Who film every week. I know that Pittsburgh's PBS station did not do this, airing individual episodes daily instead.

Yeah but the downside to the way WVIZ did it was that not every "Episode" they aired was the same length. Being in grade school at the time I would have to go to bed before the were over sometimes and tape the rest, and there were many times I did not set the VCR long enough. Wow, the thought of setting a VCR, I cannot even remember the last time I did that.
