DVD Talk review of 'Scrooged'
I read Paul Mavis's DVD review of Scrooged at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=47089 and...
would just like to mention that Paramount is sitting on an a completed Special Edition with a remastered transfer and feature length Donner commentary. Why they just re-released the old disc baffles me.
Even more interesting, is the new artwork you describe is straight from the shelved SE.

I saw it a few weeks before Paul's review and I bought it just to make sure it didn't secretly have the Yule Love It! edition inside. No dice. Too bad, since that version would make more sense alongside the "Looking Good, Feeling Good" Trading Places and the "Those Aren't Pillows!" Planes, Trains, and Automobiles (Paramount's 2010 "holiday art" trilogy).

It's strange, too, because what was sent to me obviously is intended as some kind of new repackaging, because of the goofy "window pane" slipcover. So if you're going to go to that trouble...why not release the "Yule Love It" version while you're at it???
Maybe it's a last-minute legal hang-up of some kind.
